2023 IN | Lower League signings : Tue Sep 27, 2022 9:26 am
Rugby League Live reporting that Luke Hooley and Leon Ruan are done deals, another one that’s gone over without anyone knowing though is Luis Roberts, young winger from Leigh Centurions

Well, it seems like we'll have a lot more pace, youth and athleticism in the squad next season, but we'll have to wait and see if we'll have more quality.

Should be in the rumours thread.

So you’re one of them it’s not confirmed until it’s on the club site ones?

Matthew Shaw told us we were signing Oliver Gildart.

Just look how that went.

Mathew Shaw has no more idea than you or me, he simply reads forums and listens to rumours. The Leeds Live is full of click bait and so called rugby news and when you click on the headlines 80% of the time there is no story.

Just the sort of signings we need en masse to start competing for trophies again

To balance the Gildart non-event, Leeds Live did report Sangare weeks before the club confirmed it. It looks like we'll get a flurry of announcements after the NZ game, with some potential signings playing in the Leigh-Batley final this weekend.

If they come off these signings seem to be about depth and obviously the hope that some of the young players coming in develop into quality players. In one of his early interviews Smith seemed genuinely shocked that in a number of positions his first choice backups were Academy players. He's come from a system where most players debut at 19/20, with some not even debuting then. That gives them time to work on their game but also develop physically.

In any event I'm fascinated to see how these Championship lads go.

These signings are about adding depth to the squad, at good value on the salary cap, with the players having some potential to go on to become regular first team Super League players. It’s a good direction the club are heading in imo

yes. but unless some quality is added to the starting 17 it will be another wait for success
