Ferguson who didn't play a game in Japanese rugby union after dropping his stash of coke? He's an alright player and doing well in the 2nd tier, but I wouldn't want him. And Springer is total rocks and the odd diamond. Players can look great in that Leigh side playing weak opposition, but we need to be smarter with our recruitment if we're going to be building on this season. There's some hidden potential in the Championship, and I'd be happy with Macdonald but not a 32 year old winger or 29 year old prop who hasn't ever really done it in Super League

Everyone is wanting trinity’s young lads and ex-academy lads.

Eseh is 18 years old and has come through the trinity academy. He’s signed until end of 2024 and is in the first of a 3 year deal. Trinity are expecting big things from him and he should break through to SL next year. He is a nomination for young Championship player of year too. So hands off him .

Hooley again another ex trinity academy product who didn’t make the grade. He was too skinny and not physically up to SL though it appears he’s filled out a bit now so might be worth a punt.

I like to see trinity products do well. There were plenty on display today with Walshaw, Wildie and Morton also ex trinity academy products. Brought back some memories from years ago.

Furguson looks really good but he’s hardly up against quality defences or opposite numbers. Be good to see how he goes if Leigh get promoted.

Aren't Ruan and Olpherts on the list of targets? I'm guessing Walker will officially be a Leeds player next year but may spend the season on loan.

Also I don't think we have two overseas spots for the Leigh prop and MacDonald?

My suggestion was Ferguson instead of Fusitua when we signed him for this season.
Other players have done worse than Ferguson and have played for Leeds.
Springer for me has always looked good and runs it hard.
Admittedly I have only seen him half a dozen times.
I agree though that even I would look good playing for Leigh.

I was thinking that about Wakefield players in particular Wildie and Walshaw along with Esah of course.
Still not sure about Hooleys defence and seems a bit of a Brierley type player to me.

It sounds as if we are still trying to do a deal for Zak but only if we can free up some cap space.
I guess the plan was that Walker would go to Hull and Zak would replace him.
If we can convince others that they will not be retained after next season they might look for a better deal elsewhere like Sutcliffe did having secured a 3 year deal.
Fingers crossed others do the same.

I would be disappointed to lose Zak as think he has been very good and I think there is a it too much jam tomorrow in that 6. Having also lost Mellor and Broadbent I’d hope to have more good SL ready players.

Hetherington saying on Leeds Live that we are up to the cap so will have to create space for Zak to stay - I think they probably thought Hull FC would have taken Walker on but obviously his injury put paid to that.

He talked about moving players on if they wanted to - I wonder who they have in mind!
