Appreciate that mate but we need to increase it somehow. I'm not saying a huge amount immediately but it has to go up. It's been stale for a while, it's not working and the gap is getting wider and wider to the NRL. We will lose most of our best players if this continues as it is. On a wider issue of course we need to generate more finance into the game as a whole, hopefully that will come in time on the back of the IMG recommendations.

You are right. In real terms the salary cap is decreasing year on year which not only means that clubs will not be able to attract decent players from the NRL but they are also faced with trimming their current squad annually. The fringe players in first team squads are, in the main, paid a pittance.

Yep, something has to be done mate. Can't stay as it is much longer.

To a certain extent it's getting beyond the point of repair. We are so far behind the NRL cap it's a no brainer for any SL player to go if offered. We can raise the cap here, but that won't increase the quality, it'll pretty much just getting players here a better deal.

Realistically the SL is a feeder for the NRL with most of our decent players having a stint down there. In theory that should make England more competitive

I see the Dolphins got their season off to a good start.
Didn`t see the game but sounds they played well.

Do the dolphins plan to give themselves a proper name?

Yes very surprising that win but great for the comp. Penrith got beat too at home which was a shock, close one but still a shock

Manley Eels game today was good.
The size of the forwards sorry Leeds Luke if you are reading seem much bigger athletes than ours along with their backs.
Played much faster too.

Didn’t see that game. Watched Sydney derby and that was great. Standard is levels above SL

I would look at it as a different sport. Conditions, reffing all different. Rules are even different!
