One of my mates got chewing gum stuck to his jeans, and then proceeded to transfer it onto one of the seats in my motor. Anyone got any tips/products for getting rid of it? My usual car valeter wants £5 off me to remove it, no chance.

I have to stump up another £20 and pay for a valet to get that price, he wants £15 to do it on its own, and he let me down last time so I don't know what to do

Or, get some grease proof paper, cover the gum and run a hot iron over it. That should cause the gum to de-stick from the seat and attach to the paper

Put the ice cubes into a bag and leave them on top of the gum for 10 minutes. Then the gum will be hard and will just pick away. If it's quite a big bit then once you've got the top bit off you might find the underneath is sticky - if so just stick ice on it until it's hard.
