Hull FC hooker, Danny Houghton has signed a three year contact extension, which will see him play his trade at the KC Stadium until the conclusion of 2017.
Houghton was already contracted for the next two seasons but the 23 year-old, who has recently been crowned as Player's Player of the year for the second year running, jumped at extending his stay.
"I'm really settled here," he said.
"It's my hometown club, we've just started a family and I just love playing for the club."
Coach Peter Gentle was also keen to praise Houghton and believes the England Knights player, will soon be recognised with a spot in the national sides' first team.
"He is without doubt a future international at the highest level and he must be very close to receiving a call-up to the full England squad," said Gentle.
"That is why we want to keep him here. He is one of the country's brightest talents and players like that don't crop up every day.
"His attributes on the field are second to none; his work ethic is astonishing and, despite being just 23, he is a great leader for us."
