Walker is far from our biggest worry. At least he’s trying his heart out. He has ability, pace, and the determination needed. Would look way better in a better team, just like Herman and a few others.
Half back is the biggest miss by a long, long way. We look completely rudderless.
Releasing Hoy and Brown with a replacement line up was madness, we would have been a lot better with those two player the last few weeks than what we have. This has happened a few times with Connor and Evans (and in some respect Sneyd).
As for our signings confirmed and rumored, all seem to be gambles, I'm not sure as a club right now we can afford gambles, we did that this year with Ock, Pele and Brown and it backfired massivley.
We have to make sure that the 3/4 overseas players we sign are of really good quality.
Said last night and I stick by it, we can't have the likes of Pele as a quota player playing 20 minutes or so. Would be happy to have 5 new quota players along with Asista and Ese Ese.

For me the Hoy situation was made all the more baffling by the fact that Smith left and he seemed to be the one leading the charge to get rid of Hoy. Brown was a tricky one but as you point out, it's not the first time this has happened. You can throw Clifford into the mix too. The club had absolutely no contingency plan for him going back home after only a year.
As for signings, the problem is that we've sunk that low that we might only be able to take gambles at the moment. We might want to sign quality overseas players but does anyone of quality want to come to us at this time?
What the club really needs is to announce the coach and announce the investment ASAP. Sends a statement out to everyone showing who they will be playing for and that we have the financial firepower to build a competitive team once more.

Agree with everything you say, with Hoy, it was probably too late. Feel a bit for Myler as he has been left a right mess.
Think we have to have a coach and assistant in place (or at least announced )by the Cas game.
The real issue is why players are wanting to leave. It doesn't happen at the likes of saints and wigan, certainly only very infrequently when there is a genuine reason

It's always hard though Dave signing players from the NRL, even the really good quality players you say you need aren't guaranteed to settle or be that good, Look at us at Rovers when we signed Vete, Sims and Takairangi, they all should have been top quality players BUT..... Asiata is a great signing as he's over here, he's settled in, and he's proven his quality and you know he's not going home after a few months because he's lonely.

While I agree with wanting to have a new coach in place within the next couple of weeks, I do feel like that could lead us to rushing/panicking and appointment the wrong person just because they're available and can start next week. I don't think any of the names been touted about so far, Lam for example, would leave their current club mid season. I'd like us to get Holbrook and not sure if he's working at the moment? So if he could come immediately that would be a huge bonus aswell.
We should be all over Holbrook like a rash, he transformed saints when cunningham left, he's the only one I can see who has the ability to turn us round.
